No knitting news...

Well, really, unless you want to see pics of unfinished scarves or hats. But I'm working on them, and they are coming along. I just wish I were a much faster knitter.

But to give everyone some eye candy, I allowed The Boy to use my digital camera to take pictures of roses at a local restaurant, The Shady Rest. Not too bad, if I do say so myself.

Secret Pal Revealed, Part Deux

Since I have finally revealed myself to my spoilee, and she now knows who I am, I am free to tell the world! Her name is Ruth, and she can be found here . She loved her surprises. I'm so pleased!

Secret Pal Revealed

My brilliant, and kind, Secret Pal has revealed herself. Actually, she gave me a hint, and I ran with it, and found her. Ha! You can check out the wonderful Lynda's blog for yourself. I can't thank her enough for all of her wonderful gifts, and most of all for her encouragement that I CAN knit socks (so far this has proven to be a false faith, but I am nothing if not persistent. The cuff down on two circs isn't going so well either. But I do cast on beautifully.).

Check These Goodies Out!

There was a package waiting on the doorstep when The Boy and I got home. We tore into it, and found this:











There were all kinds of great goodies stuffed inside this cool knitting bag. There was even a pocket of goodies for The Boy, who got very excited!













I can't list everything, because look at it ALL! but there are cool sheep stitch markers from Hide and Sheep, beautiful soaps from The Alchemic Dragon, organic chocolate, mints, lotion, yarn, patterns, a yarn cutter pendant and other little notions.














Is my Secret Pal the greatest, or what? You covet all of this, don't you? I know you do!

An Important Tip

One can NOT perform a three-needle bind-off using circular needles. Go ahead, ask me how I know.

I finished the body of the cape, hood and all. Whew! Finally! Now I just have to edge it. Shall I do the saxon braid edging? A different cabled edging? Some other edging completely? I-cord? I'm not sure. But now I can set that aside for a bit, and concentrate on the secret pal socks. I'm going to attempt cuff-down on 2 circs; perhaps that shall be a bit more successful!
