The Yarn Harlot Touched My Monkeys
Some months there's just a lot of knitting news! I drove out to the Borders in Marlton to see the Yarn Harlot. And she was just as wonderful as at FIT. But in a smaller gathering, I actually got to talk to her, and hold THE SOCK!, while she held my monkeys. LOL. What a great night. I'm posting the picture, because she had made a derogatory comment about her appearance. Steph looks GORGEOUS. As always. And, I'm ashamed to admit, I coveted her sweater. Deeply and seriously.

Yarn Overdose
Whilst in NYC this weekend, I had to venture to the School Products Yarn Company. We won't mention how I walked past it three times before I figured it out. Ahem. But once inside I was in yarn heaven!
And I managed to accumulate myself a nice bunch of yarn. And had it shipped home, because I couldn't carry it all.
But I got some gorgeous Karabella Empire Silk - 100% Italian Silk, 1.75oz/ 50g ball, 90 yds/ 83m, Worsted, 4.5 sts/inch, Needle Size: #6 US/ 4mm.
I want to use this to make the celtic knot sweater
And some lovely Karabella Aurora 8 - Extrafine Merino Wool, 1.75oz/ 50g ball, 98 yds/ 90m,Worsted, 4.5 sts/inch, Needle Size: #7-8 US/ 4.5-5mm. I'm thinking about making the Cardigan for Arwen by Kate Gilbert, IK, winter 2006.

Slacking
Well, as far as blogging goes, yes, I have been slacking. But I HAVE been knitting. Still working away on the socks (how come the foot is taking twice as long as the rest of the sock put together?).
I just found out that the intermediate knitting class I signed up for ISN'T going to be cancelled, for a change! So I've also been looking for a sweater pattern for the alpaca. The Banff isn't quite right, the Big Sack from SnB isn't quite right. In fact, like Goldilocks, none of them are quite right! I'm just going to wing it. I also want to make a million miles of I-cord to trim the Manos cape. What else should I focus on, to try to learn?
